Links: Notes: With regards to writing bash / sh scripts, keep in mind you could actually run your script as a startup application using the information contained within this episode. Just browse to the script. I guessed Elisa was at version 0.5.2. It is actually 0.5.3 at present. I was close. I have no idea why I remember such numbers. I received an email from Danny just following the show. He downloaded the Ubuntu 8.04 CD ISO, burnt it, and tried it on his computer, and confirms that I was correct; his installation was botched. Now that he has the proper ISO, he's able to watch the show. I checked, and it does not look like Miro is available for Mac. So it's only currently available for Windows and Linux. Mac users can subscribe to our RSS Podcast feed via iTunes. Special thanks to rootux for helping Mdemi with their VirtualBox question. Additional thanks to Cliff for his advice with regards to studio lighting. If you noticed nicer lighting during this episode, give Cliff the credit for his suggestions. Tonight, we began using diffusers and reflected lighting. I sure would LOVE to be independent of Window$ all together. Did a look back on one of the shows to figure out Pidgin. I think I have it ready for next weeks show. At least I have Yahoo working on Pidgon. Big improvement on the lighting. Glad I could help here & thank you for the mention. |
