For the sake of accuracy, I actually looked it up - LOL - here's what Wikipedia says about PKZIP:  "The first version of PKZIP appeared in 1989. It was a DOS command-line tool and was distributed as shareware with a $25 registration fee."

Something I had intended to mention about using nvidia-settings: if you want your settings to be remembered after rebooting your computer, make sure you save it to your xorg.conf file.  In order to do this, rather than launching nvidia-settings, you must launch it as super user:  gksudo nvidia-settings - then, once you have it set the way you like, press "Save to X Configuration File" on the X Server Display Configuration page.  Make sure you merge the settings with your existing file, otherwise you'll actually be overwriting it.  Now, the settings will be saved to your configuration.
