Testimonial List

Hi Robbie, Hilary, Eric & the team,

I often stumble around the net, like a tech starved nomad, looking for quality webcasts. How did I miss Cat5 till now!!!

South Africa is a little better than most of Africa but still a technology desert in comparison with the west.

Discovering your show was a real find for me, but the cherry on top of the cake is all the Linux stuff.

You guys are awesome...

Thanks,
Charlie (Cape Town)

I nominate @RobbieFerguson for a Shorty Award in #webshow because he has a rare, genuine, wholesome re-assuring approach, to the intricate understanding of modern personal interfacing with end users and their technical computing questions. In real time.

Thank you Robbie.

Robbie and Category5 Team,

Just wanted to say 'Thanks' for the recent DNS tool featured a a couple weeks ago. I have used it on mine and my wife's Win 7 laptops and have seen an improvement in response times.

One note - this is probably a tool to run occasionally since DNS servers change on the internet all the time.

Keep up the Good work!

Robbie & Cast & Category5 Community

Yall are amazing! I've been watching on/off since 2007 when I was first introduced to Ubuntu. I love seeing how much Category5 has grown and changed (for the better ;)).

I'm from Austin, TX but I'm currently serving in Afghanistan (don't worry I plan on sending a postcard :)) and with the help of Category5 I've been introducing Ubuntu to my fellow soldiers, two of which have ditched Windows and are now on 11.10.

We watch the show via RSS when we can. Not often enough as it takes an overnight download session to download one episode due to the horrendous satellite internet we have.

Overall we just want to say thank you and keep up the good work.

Category 5 is amazing! There is always stuff to learn, and there are funny things too, like that guy that visited on episode 222! I can't remember the name of him right now, but you should have him on more often! Of course there are more funny things as well, and I'm not putting that down of course.

Oh, and I know with this testimonial I'm sure to win yet another pogoplug! There's always something to gain on Category 5!

I just found you all last week. Bless you all! You are a God send! Thank you so much.

All the best. ;) cheers, Franklin

Hey Cat5 team,
while watching the latest episode of Cat5TV I noticed something very funny. Have a look at the picture.

Do you notice the identity between Eric and the guy in the thumbnail? Pretty strange.

Anyway, nice show by the way, hope to catch your show live again soon.

Best Regards.

I have see this baby grow into a "Prime Time" production. Let's all get this in the classrooms.

I am working on a development program to get new sponsors, and to share some of the sponsors from my other interests. I foresee Robbie's network becoming 24/7. With his help, we could all upload through Cat5tv, a multitude of Tech Talent.
Let all work together, to get Robbie financed.

Perhaps one of the next moves is to find out, who does, or who can, do what, to make a growth plan.

Robbie,
Where do you see Category 5 TV, Going?
And you better say, "To the opera", (You're Good Dude!)
Perhaps after you stop by the Bank.

In 1982, I did the "Pilot" as the first "Temp" video DJ for VH1 (I was dating Glen Taylor's daughter, at the time) and he went on to create CNN, FNN, and VH1.

I, on the other hand, had to wait another ten years to grow up...

Oh... "Herman Cain Moment"... Libya? Oh yeah, and..

Your production is "out of the box", far and away more focused and tempered.

You guys really have something here.

The industries of Humanity has lost it's compass. That is what draws us into finding other solutions, or avenues of truth.

Even Barrie has it's "Molson Golden Moments."

"Servers for everyone" may not be the best answer.

That is akin to saying, "Well everyone is naked, under their clothes." But if you really think about it; Perhaps not everyone should be?

With support and gratitude......voodoosandman...

Dear Robbie and "The Crew"

I have been around since Season One.

Robbie:
Although I haven't been there for every show, you have. Not only are you consistent but you have also consistently improved the standard of the show in appearance and content. You seem to have a knack for picking co-hosts or "crew members" who are good at their job. You have overcome adversity time and again; that my friend is impressive! I grew up with a significant physical disability so I know how tempting it can be to quit rather than persevere. You have taken the "high road" and that deserves some recognition.

You have literally brought Category5 TV into your home and made it a part of your family...or maybe it's the other way around but either way that is quite a commitment on your part as well as your family. Thank you!

The Crew:
Simply said, you folks are great! In my opinion, your contribution and importance to Category5 TV cannot be over stated. Like Robbie, you are committed and consistent in your efforts. Your professionalism comes through clearly. Thank you for your commitment and contribution to the enjoyment of Category5 TV.

You all make it look easy and fun when I know it cannot always be either. Your casual charm is contagious and fun to watch. I look forward to watching every episode either live, truly the best way to watch, or through Miro. It's more than learning Linux but that has been a big part of it for me. It's also being part of the community and feeling a shared interest in what you are doing. You have my respect and admiration; keep up the great work!

Hello Robbie & Cat5 Orchestra!

Yay, thank you for the viewer points+award - and for showing my voice-over contest video on Episode 216. :-)

You have given me so much already with your show, I can honestly say it has changed my life during the last few years. Time for me to actively contribute when there's a chance.

I\'m coming from an DOS/Windows background reaching back to 1986 (my first IBM-compatible with MS-DOS 2.1) and working as a windowsy admin / supporter at the local university.

Before Cat5, testing some older Suse distros never did it for me, due to the clumsy installation, the "ugly" looking desktop, problems with missing drivers and such.

But then came Category 5. :-) Robbie, you really opened my "windows" and made me explore the world of Linux more seriously and successfully. Many of my machines at home (on hardware and virtualbox) already run Linux [travel netbook, download machine, office/mail pc, local php/mysql dev box,... and a storage server being planned].
Plus, after more than a decade, I kind of fell in love with the command-line again, this time not on DOS, but on Linux. I recently discovered many cool helpers [like wget, curl, nmap, tinyproxy,...] that I could even use at work.

So, after all, the Linux fanboys were right. Linux rocks. And so does Category 5. :-D

Thank you for making the difference!
Happy yodels and greetings!
