Just a quick note regarding this episode (well at least the question about the Rode Podcaster in "The Meat")...
The Rode Podcaster does work under linux. In fact, it works brilliantly.
I'm running it with KUbuntu 9.10 and it's plug and play. Older PodCaster's may need the vista firmware upgrade before they are recognized under linux.
One bonus I wasn't expecting is that the headphone jack on the podcaster gets loaded as a usb soundcard so you can monitor recordings live and use the podcaster as your main sound device.
