(07:20:03 PM) raptor222: phasing out probably because they were hacked through ie6!!
(07:20:05 PM) Alexandra: RobbieF: Whats the best place to put the swap? On it's on partition or on the same as your /home?
(07:20:05 PM) _Jot_: IE 6 is 9 years old now
(07:20:06 PM) poetofzwan: problem with IE6 I think is companies and public sector (NHS for example)
(07:20:07 PM) mmdmurphy: agamotto - it's less often!
(07:20:24 PM) GoodGuy: If both are using Ubuntu, I believe RobbieF covered that in an old episode.. maybe check The Meat
(07:20:25 PM) thiebaude: firefox ftw
(07:20:27 PM) arand: Alexandra: swap always needs it's own partition

(07:20:36 PM) thiebaude: hi GoodGuy
(07:20:41 PM) GoodGuy: hi thiebaude
(07:20:51 PM) Hillary: Charlie Kent..where'd you go?
(07:20:53 PM) GadgetWisdomGuru: Agamotto, don't get me started on Verizon and my attempt to prepay for a week of net on a USB modem I got on Ebay.

(07:22:03 PM) nimi_erkki: heh
(07:22:05 PM) agamotto: GadgetWisdomGuru, True, but you are still dealing with a company who thinks turning off phone features is acceptable practice
(07:22:07 PM) mmdmurphy: NO, what is test drive?
(07:22:08 PM) GoodGuy: Google for Ubuntuzilla.. they have a repository etc

(07:23:17 PM) agamotto: GadgetWisdomGuru, With the linux-based ones, you generally don't have to. Features can't be locked out of them, as a rule.
(07:23:17 PM) GoodGuy: Do recall seeing an episode
(07:23:23 PM) mmdmurphy: THANKS will look
(07:23:30 PM) GadgetWisdomGuru: Yes, but I'm still mastering Android.

(07:23:42 PM) agamotto: calhydro, Should be auto-negotiating these days
(07:23:45 PM) |dev|null: The real problem is, "as I understand it" Mozilla has a revenue stream itself from its default settings. Its ok to take Firefox, change it, and take full responsibility for your own fork. But they seem to get mad when people just "re-brand" it.
(07:23:50 PM) poetofzwan: yes it was me
(07:23:56 PM) Crewsr3: anyone that wants to try out the lastest build of ubuntu to use test drive
(07:24:02 PM) raptor222: RobbieF two question one when do you switch the stream to 16:9 and the second one do you know of an server installable podcast aggregator (or one with web managment)
(07:24:10 PM) calhydro: Does the driver take care of that?
(07:24:43 PM) arand: Alexandra: Ah, hmm, come to think of it I think swap on file is possible as long as you don't require hibernation.

(07:25:17 PM) calhydro: Ok, Thanks
(07:25:18 PM) agamotto: I might try STO after it has been out about six months
(07:25:19 PM) thiebaude: :)

(07:28:17 PM) arand: Alexandra: yea, spoke to fast, swap file should be possible with a bit of trickery, but won't work is you want to use hibernation...
(07:28:22 PM) agamotto: RobbieF, Because BAM! is over-used?
(07:28:25 PM) thiebaude: im on windows 7
(07:28:25 PM) mmdmurphy: Avatar over $2 billion...
(07:28:27 PM) Christy: Alexandra yes
(07:28:39 PM) _Jot_: often you can't put those link servers in hosts unless you add hundreds, since they generally have a subdomain for each site
(07:29:09 PM) warcow105: arrrrrrrrrrggggg....late to the party
(07:29:16 PM) thiebaude: warcow105: hey man

(07:30:35 PM) kciaccio: Robbie, do you see any problems streaming a bluray rip using an unraid server if the system is set up well with good hardwre and gigabyte network set up?
(07:30:41 PM) Crewsr3: Christy, Hi how are things in the News room?
(07:30:41 PM) komputes: RobbieF: unfortunately i need a solutuion for when both people are behind firewalls
(07:30:42 PM) poetofzwan: RobbieF: glad you liked Readability suggestion. It also helps a lot if you want to use a text to speech program in your browser too (as far easier to select all the body text at once).
(07:30:47 PM) ziggy1194: Here is the guide I used http://ubuntuguide.net/install-mac-os-x-theme-mac4lin-in-ubuntu-9-10karmic

(07:33:50 PM) DeltaLitProf: having a strange computer issue: I was having repeated blue screens of death in Vista. Tried everything from updates of all drivers to a Vista reinstall. Here's what I did to solve the issue. Removed the side panel, then removed two sticks of RAM. The computer's been up for 16 hours now without a BSOD.
(07:33:57 PM) mmdmurphy: Sounds pornographic
(07:34:00 PM) Gadwil: Did you turn your microphone off?
(07:34:10 PM) Crewsr3: http://www.yuuguu.com/home Its not the best remote program but its free

(07:35:19 PM) arand: Alexandra: It's ok here...
(07:35:27 PM) GoodGuy: You may have a bad stick and the new memory relocated the code
(07:35:27 PM) coskibum: LOL

(07:36:14 PM) Alexandra: RobbieF: Thanks, heard half of the answer. Video gone. Listening only now.
(07:36:21 PM) Crewsr3: kciaccio, are you planning to do the same?

(07:36:28 PM) thiebaude: Alexandra: hi
(07:36:29 PM) DeltaLitProf: But it's a strange example of computer repair operating like dental work. I took out two bad teeth. And now it's working

(07:37:42 PM) |dev|null: You can make it shut down. Packages, rsibreak, or workrave :)
(07:37:51 PM) GoodGuy: ROBBIEF-Hillary: What does that mean?

(07:52:11 PM) raptor222: RobbieF i just set up an ati card with ubuntu 9.10, it was quite easy and practicaly without any glitches
(07:52:20 PM) agamotto: In Xorg.conf, my 32" telly shows up as TWO screens

(07:52:25 PM) poetofzwan: RobbieF: just a quick note. The experimental open Mesa driver for ATI are great (far far better with compiz), been testing them. They are due to be in Lucid. Which is great news for Linux users!
(07:52:35 PM) komputes: warcow105: not using nvidia-settings only gnome-screen properties

(07:57:09 PM) agamotto: ^ is a caret
(07:57:20 PM) Gadwil: RobbieF, follow-up on dual monitors... When he/she gets things just the way they want it they should save it to the Configuration File. To do that you run Nvidia Settings as Root and save config file. But, they may need to go into /etc/X11 and delete/rename the xorg.conf file to allow the nvidia settings manager to save/create a new one. that seems to be a common bug with using dual-monitors.
(07:57:22 PM) agamotto: <> are mathematical, usually
(07:57:25 PM) poetofzwan: Minotisok: page two of thread has easiest explanation. If you do try it (which you may not want to do) Install kernel first before adding/upgrading xorg-edgers PPA
